Nu Rho Chapter
Since 1964, the members of Nu Rho Chapter have internalized these principles to develop multiple programs to serve Albuquerque and surrounding communities.
These programs include:
- An annual high school essay contest that awards scholarship to a deserving high school, who also qualifies for District and International competitions offering additional scholarships.
- A general scholarship program that offers thousands of dollars in scholarships each year to local students transitioning from high school to college.
- An annual Talent Hunt competition that awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to high school student who demonstrate exceptional talent in the performing and/or visual arts. This competition also offers the opportunity to win additional scholarships at the District and International level.
- Mentoring programs that help young people from middle school through college develop tools to succeed in school and the workplace.
- Voter education and registration programs.
- Offering volunteer labor and financial support to Habitat for Humanity and Roadrunner Food Bank.
- Conducting an annual Red Cross Blood Drive.
- Annual fundraising campaign for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
